TEXAS ETHICS COMMISSION
The Texas Ethics Commission is authorized by Government Code, sec.571.091, to 
issue advisory opinions in regard to the following statutes: the Government 
Code, Chapter 302; the Government Code, Chapter 305; the Government Code, 
Chapter 572; the Election Code, Title 15; the Penal Code, Chapter 36; and the 
Penal Code, Chapter 39.

Advisory Opinions Request
AOR 361. The Texas Ethics Commission has been asked to consider the application 
of the Government Code, sec.572.058 to a member of the board of the Texas 
Department of Housing and Community Affairs who is an officer of a bank that may 
apply to the department to participate as a lender in a board program.
AOR 362. The Texas Ethics Commission has been asked to consider whether a lobby 
registrant may purchase real estate from a state officer if the lobby registrant 
pays fair market value for the real estate. The request letter also asks about 
appropriate methods for determining fair market value.
