TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME:
WHEREAS I, RICK PERRY, Governor of the State of Texas, on December 27,
2005, did proclaim the existence of a disaster in the State due to high or
extreme fire hazard;
WHEREAS, I hereby certify that 254 counties in the State of Texas continue
to be threatened by high or extreme fire hazard; and
WHEREAS, this threat is caused by severe drought conditions across the
State;
NOW THEREFORE, in accordance with the authority vested in me by Section
418.014 of the Texas Government Code, I do hereby renew the disaster proclamation
and direct that all necessary measures, both public and private as authorized
under Section 418.015 of the code, be implemented to meet that disaster.
This Proclamation shall be effective for 30 days beginning on January 26,
2006.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto signed my name and have officially
caused the Seal of State to be affixed at my Office in the City of Austin,
Texas, this the 2nd day of February, 2006.
