Texas State Board of Examiners of Perfusionists
Rule Transfer
Through the enactment of Senate Bill 403, 79th Legislature, 2005, the Governor
and the legislature have abolished the Texas State Board of Examiners of Perfusionists
(board). The board, which was administratively attached to the Department
of State Health Services (DSHS), will be replaced by a DSHS advisory committee.
The statutory mandates and activities relating to the regulation of perfusionists
will continue to be housed at the Department of State Health Services. Administrative
rulemaking authority relating to the licensure and regulation of perfusionists
is transferred to the Executive Commissioner, Texas Health and Human Services
Commission.
The legacy board's rules regulating perfusionists are currently located
under Title 22, Part 33, Chapter 761, of the
Texas
Administrative Code.
These rules will be transferred and reorganized
under Title 25, Part 1, Chapter 140, of the
Texas
Administrative Code.
The transfer is effective September 1, 2005.
