Re: Whether a commissioners court may contract for online legal research services for the general public and local attorneys with fees collected under §323.023 of the Local Government Code. (RQ-0006-GA)

SUMMARY

A commissioners court may use fees collected under §323.023 of the Texas Local Government Code to provide online legal research services for the general public, judges, and attorneys, and incidental benefit to private attorneys would not render the expenditure unconstitutional under Article III, §52(a) of the Texas Constitution.
