Appointed to the Asthma and Allergy Research Advisory Committee for a term to expire on January 1, 2003, Marianna M. Sockrider, M.D., Dr.P.H. of Pearland (replacing Amanda Dove, MD who resigned).

Appointed to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission for terms to expire on September 28, 2007, Diana Rae Hester Cox of Canyon (replacing Carolyn Armstrong of San Antonio whose term expired), Sandra Gunter Holland of Pleasanton (replacing Sandy Melton of Dallas whose term expired).

Appointed to the Upper Guadalupe River Authority Board of Directors for a term to expire on February 1, 2005, Peggy Joyce Henderson of Kerrville (replacing Peggy Henderson of Kerrville who resigned).

Appointed to the Upper Guadalupe River Authority Board of Directors for terms to expire on February 1, 2007, Mollie Maresh of Hunt (reappointed), Ronnie J. Pace of Kerrville (replacing George MacDonald of Kerrville whose term expired), A. L. "Curg" Starkey, III of Kerrville (replacing T. Beck Gipson of Kerrville whose term expired).

Appointed as the Justice of the Court of Appeals, First Appellate District for a term until the next General Election and until her successor shall be duly elected and qualified, Elsa Alcala of Houston. Judge Alcala will be replacing Justice Murry B. Cohen who resigned effective May 31, 2002.

Appointed as Chief Justice of the Court of Appeals, Sixth Appellate District, effective June 7, 2002, for a term until the next General Election and until his successor shall be duly elected and qualified, Josh R. Morriss, III of Texarkana. Mr. Morriss will be replacing Chief Justice William Cornelius who retired effective June 6, 2002.

Appointed to the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners for a term to expire February 1, 2005, Grace L. Butler, Ph.D. of Pearland (replacing Jo Ann Wofford of Fort Worth who resigned).

Appointed to the On-Site Wastewater Treatment Research Council for terms to expire on September 1, 2003, Therese M. Baer, P.E. of Austin (reappointed), Sandra A. Cararas of McAllen (replacing Lois Koock of Mason whose term expired), Franz K.
