The Texas State Library and Archives Commission adopts new
§2.6, concerning dates when advisory boards to the commission will be
abolished, without changes to the proposed text as published in the June 25,
1999, issue of the
Texas Register
(24 TexReg
4669). Therefore, the text will not be republished.
The rule is being adopted to meet the requirements of Government Code §2110.008
that requires the commission to establish advisory boards for specified time
periods.
The rule extends the life of several advisory committees until 2009.
No comments were received regarding the adoption of this rule.
The new section is adopted under Government Code §2110.008
that requires the commission to establish by a rule date on which an advisory
committee will automatically be abolished and §441.006(a) which provides
the Commission with authority to govern the Texas State Library and adopt
rules on various subjects.
This agency hereby certifies that the adoption has been reviewed
by legal counsel and found to be a valid exercise of the agency's legal authority.
