Hereby request Congress of the United States to enact legislation to provide for federal deployment of the Strategic National Stockpile within Mexico, provided that the Mexican government approves said request pursuant to treaties and other agreements with the United States.
Paying tribute to the life of King Fisher, who passed away January 7, 2005, at the age of 88.
Granting the Texas DeMolay Association permission to use the chambers of the senate and house of representatives in the State Capitol on February 19 and 20, 2005; and February 18 and 19, 2006, for its legislative seminar.
Hereby urge the United States Congress to enact legislation in the 109th Congress establishing a domestic energy policy that will ensure an adequate supply of natural gas.
Designating the chuck wagon as the official vehicle of Texas.
Hereby designate the cast iron Dutch oven as the official State Cooking Implement.
Hereby pay tribute to The Crickets for their many contributions to Texas music and recognize March 16, 2005, as The Crickets Day in Texas.
Hereby recognizing the importance of the emerging Texas wine industry.
Hereby encourage Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, Grayson County College T.V. Munson Viticulture and Enology Center, and other Texas institutions of higher education offering education and research opportunities in viticulture and enology to collaborate to develop a world-class education and research program within the State of Texas.
Hereby request that members of the Texas delegation to the United States Congress specifically seek funds in the amount of $2 million for each year of the following five-year period for grant funding through the United States Department of Agriculture and the Animal Plant and Health Inspection Service to conduct Pierce's disease research in Texas.
Hereby request that the Texas Wine Marketing Research Institute at Texas Tech University to expand its data collection and reporting.
Recognizing the professionals of the Texas Juvenile Justice System on Texas Juvenile Justice Day 2005.
Hereby approve and authorize the naming of the natatorium at the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin the LeRoy Colombo Swim Center.
Hereby honor the contributions of Jim Cullum to jazz music and recognize April as Jazz Appreciation Month.
Recognizing April 5, 2005, as Texas Medal of Arts Awards Day at the Capitol.
Commending Troy Lowell Luce for his service to his country.
Hereby urge the Congress of the United States to eliminate current caps on funded Medicare resident training positions and related limits on costs per resident used to determine Medicare graduate medical education reimbursement payments and to reexamine the direct and indirect graduate medical education reimbursement rates for graduate medical education in Texas.
Recognizing Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth for its selection to host a second NASCAR Nextel Cup race.
Hereby urge the State of Texas to continue to pursue opportunities to increase trade with Mexico.
Recognizing Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle for their observance of the National Day of Prayer.
Commending the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon for hosting the exhibit Capturing Western Legends: Russell and Remington's Canadian Frontier.
Hereby congratulate Paul C. Flowerday for her exceptional tenure as executive director of the Texas Racing Commission.
Hereby designate July 2005 as Lawn Mower Safety Awareness Month.
