| How to
Use the Texas Register Archive
Locating a Document | Viewing the Documents | Citing the Texas Register There are several ways to locate information in the Texas Register Archive. If you already have a Texas Register citation, it is easiest to browse for the correct issue. If you are looking for rules on a particular subject, then searching on that keyword will pull up relevant Texas Register issues. If you are looking for rules that affect a particular section of the Texas Administrative Code, searching for the citation might help, but the Index to Sections Affected is more effective. The Texas Register files are available in three formats online, namely: Text, PDF, and HTML formats.
The Texas Register files can be accessed by using most Web browsers. Although the text form of the Texas Register files can be opened by most word processing and database software packages, for ease in searching, format and printing, we recommend that the Texas Register ‘Text’ Files are best utilized in a word processing software package. PDF files may be viewed by using Adobe Acrobat Reader. You may download the Adobe Acrobat Reader, free, at http://www.adobe.com/ Prior to September 13, 2002, tables, charts, and other graphics are available only in PDF format.
