Appointments Made April 21, 1995 To be Presiding Judge of the First Administrative Judicial Region for a term to expire four years from date of qualification: The Honorable Pat McDowell, 3824 Greenbrier, Dallas, Texas 75225. Judge McDowell will be replacing Judge James B. Zimmerman of Dallas who was not confirmed by the Senate. To be Judge of the 233rd Judicial District Court, Tarrant County, until the next General Election and until his successor shall be duly elected and qualified: William W. Bush Governor of Texas Executive Order GWB 95-3 Executive Order Continuation of a Task Force on Los Caminos del Rio Heritage Project WHEREAS, a heritage corridor exists between Laredo and Brownsville that stretches for 200 miles along U.S. Highway 83 and 281 around which outstanding historic communities and landmarks abound, and it is a prime area for the development of a heritage corridor for this region; and WHEREAS, the heritage corridor has varied historic themes of state, national and international significance including early Hispanic exploration and settlement, the ranching heritage of Texas, the Rio Grande steamboat trade, the U.S. Civil War and the Mexican-American War, and the development of the Rio Grande Valley's agricultural industry, which are all represented in the corridor's landmarks; and WHEREAS, these historic landmarks have the potential to attract tourism and to stimulate educational, and economic activity for the benefit of the region and of the State of Texas; and WHEREAS, the Government of Mexico has continued to effectively and consistently assist the project and Los Caminos del Rio reflects and celebrates the common heritage of our two nations; and WHEREAS, numerous agencies and organizations have joined the project and there is a need for the continued coordination of public and private sector efforts; Now, therefore, I, George W. Bush, Governor of Texas, by the authority vested in me do hereby continue the Task Force on Los Caminos del Rio Heritage Project. The Task Force is composed of representatives from the Texas Historical Commission, the Texas Department of Transportation, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and the Texas Department of Commerce. The representative from the Texas Historical Commission is the chair of the Task Force. The Task Force shall meet at least quarterly either in Austin or in a city of the Corridor region to discuss with interested persons and organizations the most efficient methods to continue the development of Los Caminos del Rio Heritage Project.
