THE GOVERNOR
     As required by Texas Civil Statutes, Article 6252-13a, sec.6, the Texas 
Register publishes executive orders issued by the Governor of Texas. 
Appointments and proclamations are also published. Appointments are published in 
chronological order. Additional information on documents submitted for

Appointments Made February 28, 1995
      To be chairman of the Texas Board of Criminal Justice for a term at the 
pleasure of the Governor. Mr. Polunsky will be replacing Carol S. Vance of 
Houston as chairman. Mr. Vance will continue to serve on the board.
      To be State Commissioner of Education for a term to expire March 1, 1999: 
Dr. Michael E. Alton Moses, 4618 86th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79424. Dr. Moses 
will be replacing Dr. Lionel R. Meno of Austin whose term expired.
