Richards Governor of Texas Executive Order AWR 94-20 Creating the Red River Boundary Task Force WHEREAS, the 72nd Legislature created the Red River Boundary Commission to confer and act in conjunction with appointed representatives of Oklahoma for the purposes expressed in Senate Concurrent Resolution 46, 72nd Legislature (namely, recommendations for the establishment of a permanent boundary between Texas and Oklahoma); and WHEREAS, the tasks of the Commission were not completed by the date prescribed by S.C.R. 46 for the Commission to terminate; and WHEREAS, the duties established by S.C.R. 46 continue to be of utmost importance to the State of Texas; NOW THEREFORE, I, Ann W. Richards, Governor of the State of Texas, under the authority vested in me, do hereby create the Red River Boundary Task Force to continue the role of the Red River Boundary Commission. The Task Force shall be composed of those seven persons previously appointed to the Commission. The Task Force shall report to the Legislature by December 31, 1994 its findings and recommendations concerning joint action by the State of Texas and the State of Oklahoma regarding the location of the boundary between the states.
