The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation ("Department") adopts new rule §60.200 concerning the assignment and use of agency vehicles as published in the November 29, 2002 issue of the Texas Register (27 TexReg 11021), without changes, and will not be republished.

The adopted new rule complies with the provision of Texas Government Code, §2171.045, which requires each state agency to adopt rules relating to the assignment and use of agency vehicles.

The Department drafted and distributed the proposed rules to persons internal and external to the agency. No comments were received regarding the proposed new rule.

The new rule is adopted under Texas Government Code, §2171.045, which requires state agencies to adopt rules relating to the assignment and use of agency vehicles. The statutory provisions affected by the adoption are those set forth in Government Code, Chapter 2171 and Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 51. No other statutes, articles, or codes are affected by the adoption.

This agency hereby certifies that the adoption has been reviewed by legal counsel and found to be a valid exercise of the agency's legal authority.

Chapter 80. LICENSED COURT INTERPRETERS

16 TAC §80.25

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation ("Department") adopts new rule §80.25 regarding the Licensed Court Interpreter program as published in the November 29, 2002 issue of the Texas Register (27 TexReg 11027), without changes, and will not be republished.

The new rule adoption provides procedures for license renewals in the Licensed Court Interpreter program.

The Department drafted and distributed the proposed rules to persons internal and external to the agency. One comment was received on the proposed rules from a Licensed Court Interpreter. The comments and the Department’s responses are as follows.

The commenter stated that he saw no problem with the rules provided that the Department makes the proper forms and schedule of fees available online well in advance of the expiration date of the license. The Department agrees with this comment and provides forms and a fee schedule on the Department’s website.

The new rule is adopted under Texas Government Code, Chapter 57, §57.043(b) which authorizes the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation to provide by rule procedures for certificate renewal and Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 51, which authorizes the Department to adopt rules as necessary to implement this chapter and any other law establishing a program regulated by the Department.

The statutory provisions affected by the adoption are those set forth in Texas Government Code, Chapter 57 and Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 51. No other statutes, articles, or codes are affected by the adoption.
