19 TAC §150.1022
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) adopts an amendment to §150.1022,
concerning educator appraisal, without changes to the proposed text as published
in the January 22, 1999, issue of the
Texas Register
(24 TexReg 349) and will not be republished. The section establishes
definitions, requirements, and procedures related to the appraisal of administrators
and the commissioner-recommended student performance domain, which may be
used by school districts as a part of their locally developed appraisal instruments.
The amendment implements a student performance domain for the appraisal
of superintendents and establishes requirements for districts that choose
to adopt the commissioner-recommended student performance domain. The amendment
adds language to 19 TAC §150.1022 specifying the requirements for the
commissioner- recommended student performance domain for superintendents.
No comments were received regarding adoption of the amendment.
The amendment is adopted under the Texas Education Code, §21.354
and §39.054, which authorizes the commissioner of education to adopt
a recommended appraisal process and criteria on which to appraise the performance
of various classifications of school administrators.
This agency hereby certifies that the adoption has been reviewed
by legal counsel and found to be a valid exercise of the agency's legal authority.
