19 TAC §150.1022

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) adopts an amendment to §150.1022, concerning educator appraisal, without changes to the proposed text as published in the January 22, 1999, issue of the Texas Register (24 TexReg 349) and will not be republished. The section establishes definitions, requirements, and procedures related to the appraisal of administrators and the commissioner-recommended student performance domain, which may be used by school districts as a part of their locally developed appraisal instruments.

The amendment implements a student performance domain for the appraisal of superintendents and establishes requirements for districts that choose to adopt the commissioner-recommended student performance domain. The amendment adds language to 19 TAC §150.1022 specifying the requirements for the commissioner- recommended student performance domain for superintendents.

No comments were received regarding adoption of the amendment.

The amendment is adopted under the Texas Education Code, §21.354 and §39.054, which authorizes the commissioner of education to adopt a recommended appraisal process and criteria on which to appraise the performance of various classifications of school administrators.

This agency hereby certifies that the adoption has been reviewed by legal counsel and found to be a valid exercise of the agency's legal authority.
